The Maybank IB group of companies comprises businesses stretching around the globe with offices in Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, India, Vietnam, Great Britain and the United States of America, and has a presence in the Middle East through Anfaal Capital. Maybank IB has been in Asia for more than 40 years and provides services in corporate finance, debt capital markets, equity capital markets, derivatives, retail and institutional securities broking and research.

The Challenge

The Invest ASEAN series is a regional platform for global investors and business leaders both in the region and around the world to exchange ideas and establish strategic links. Influential thinkers from around the region get together to discuss market movements and specifically what has caused ASEAN consumption to slow in recent time. Maybank IB expected the event to attract people from the institutional investors, corporate leaders and the bank’s corporate clients.

Our Solution

Our proposal was based on 3 key elements.

  1. Create exclusivity
  2. Break convention
  3. Aim to be the talk of the industry

The outcome was an event that is totally not a conventional financial conference, with setup in the main plenary looks almost like a rock concert, creating plenty of surprises and buzz. We also created and managed a registration portal that handled RSVP and also backend admin that scheduled over 1500 small meetings. Portal was also able to generate personalised event agenda and event pass to the high level attendees.
